The need for a welcoming circular space in Airdrie that reflects Indigenous culture through artwork or materials and can accommodate smudging rituals was highlighted through feedback from Indigenous engagement sessions.

The circular design, common to many cultures globally, makes also this room inviting to diverse cultural groups.

It will be an approximately 700 square foot space with a ventilation system made to support the use of traditional medicines and smudging ceremonies safely.

Up to 20 people will fit in circular seating and for larger ceremonies of up to 44 people, lecture seating could be arranged in the space.

Resources available in the room to support gatherings held in the space include tables and chairs, wall hangers for banners, a 65″ TV on a cart, a Biamp video bar, a WolfVision Cynap Pure collaboration system, and HDMI input for laptops.
